i am Claire and I am in this article to speak to you about distracted
driving. Talking on the telephone and texting while driving a vehicle are huge
problems we happen to be facing today. The National Safeness Council found,
“Twenty eight percent of most vehicle crashes could be tied to
talking on a cellphone or texting” (“MOBILE PHONES”).
As a teenage driver, the statistics that derive from distracted
generating scare me. I believe all cellphone use, including
calling and texting ought to be banned while driving.
driving has gotten way to avoid it of hand. Based on the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration, “5,474 people” were killed
due to distracted driving a vehicle crashes and that “448,000 were
injured” (“Texting While Travelling”). These figures
are horrifying. Even only sending a quick text or checking
your phone can be quite hazardous. Justin McNaul, director of state
relations for the American Vehicle Association stated, “Even
taking your eye off the road for just two seconds doubles your likelihood of
staying in a crash” (qtd. In “MOBILE PHONES”). Why
would you risk your daily life, the persons you like, and stranger’s
lives? Waiting to text message your good friend about the super cool costume you got
can hang on until you are carefully out of your vehicle. Remember, a crash
caused by texting and driving can occur to anyone.
